In December 2003 Gastronomy Ltd was again chosen by the Royal Navy to provide the catering for the Re-dedication of an aircraft carrier. On 12th December 2003 we catered for 2000 VIPs & guests on HMS Invincible in the presence of HRH the Duke of York. Previously we were selected to provide the catering for the Re-dedication of HMS Ark Royal in 2001. This prestigious event took place in the presence of the late HRH The Queen Mother. Because of the nature of the venue and the security involved with this event, there were a number of logistical problems that needed to be overcome. The portable kitchens needed to be sited off the ship on the quayside and there was a very short time window in which to get the food from the kitchens and onto the ship. This was due to the security surrounding the royal
visitors.
